As the new year dawned, I woke, feeling a little odd. Spending Christmas in the sun was all very well and good. We’d had a blast, but I couldn’t quite shake the feeling that I’d kinda missed Christmas. Because of this, New Year, had to be right. With an unfamiliar feeling for the time of year. Staying home to see the New Year in just wouldn’t have felt right. So… a quick dash was made to the local pub at 4.30pm for tickets, before they closed at 5 to get ready for the ‘Motown’ New Years Eve Celebration Party later on. We had a lovely evening, the music was pretty awesome and we were back home by 12.30am. Tucked up in bed nice and early, ready to start 2017 nice and fresh.
By the 2nd January, my enthusiasm for the new year had well & truly found me.
My list for the week:
- Gym – tick
- Cinema trip with Mom – tick
- New tattoo – tick
- Back to work – tick
- Plan my year – tick
- Face the fact that the Christmas tree cant stay up for the rest of the year!!! – finally ticked on 7th Jan!
Each year we make plans, some we stick to… some we don’t. But each year is a fresh new slate, a whole new book just waiting to be written. This may indeed sound like a cliché, but this year, write your own story, be your own author. Always try to keep your glass half full, whatever the obstacle, however challenging times may seem.
Forget unrealistic resolutions, just take control of your own story. Be the best you can be and make 2017, your best year yet!!
