… 2016 has, as always been mixed with highs, lows and mundane days. But it was the year that helped me define the person I will become.
I started the year with a positive resolution to get fit and tone up my ageing saggy limbs. I enrolled in a boot camp which lasted for 3 sessions before I quit due to the room being colder than the arctic! There was hardly any warm up which really didn’t help, especially given the marine style exercises and utterly shocking coaching! I came out after each session feeling like I’d gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, rather than feeling like I’d had a good workout!! I decided after this that as I’d been a member of my local gym for the previous 12 months, it was about time I started to use the facilities and get my moneys worth. I was ready to go and pump some iron!
A bit later in the year, my Dad had to undergo yet another operation, my eldest daughter moved house twice and bagged herself a great new job. Plus she gained both her level 2 Gym and Level 3 PT qualifications in Fitness, a great achievement for her. My youngest, although passing with flying colours, decided to quit her university degree and pursue a new career in Fitness too. She has applied to study Strength & Conditioning or Sports Science at uni in September this year, but is currently loving her new role as a Personal Trainer at our local Gym. Something happened in my life too, something that has improved everything for me, dramatically.
My Hubby and his best mate had their first race season and did sooooo good! We have the tacky trophies on display at home to prove it! 😛
There were holiday’s with my friend, lots of holidays with my Hubby and a Christmas vacation with family & friends to finish off the year nicely.
The only down to the end of 2016, was my Mom contracting shingles. That actually made it a real bummer way for her to end the year! But all in all, It’s been an ok year, for me at least anyway. In fact, it’s been a year of personal discovery with some exiting new challenges.
New Years Eve ended on a high in our local pub. Nice and early home to bed, Completely sober, may I add! All ready with the rest of you to start a new chapter, it’s called, 2017…
