New Years Eve is the most spectacular night of the year (unless it’s the evening of your wedding!) December 31st, New Years Eve 2015, we are all about to say ‘Adios’ to the good or the bad from the past 12 months and celebrate the unknown promises of 2016.
Tonight we are going to celebrate with our friends at their House Party. This morning, I have quite literally run around like a headless chicken, losing my front door key in the process.
Finally, after being rescued with a new key from Hubby, I have tidied up, had my lunch and sat myself down with the latest episode of Greys Anatomy. The only thing I have left to do is figure out what to wear tonight and plan what time I need to shower and make myself look ‘party’ ready, despite feeling like an evening in front of the TV with a chinese and my PJ’s is a more appealing option! My lazy thoughts aside though, I will psyche myself up for the evening out with a huge smile and a rather large bottle of martini and make sure that I have the best night possible with my Hubby and our friends, because we can. We have the option. There are so many who simply don’t, or who can’t make it out tonight, on this most wonderful night of the year.
Later on today, I will meet my best friend at Uncle Alan’s house. He isn’t my uncle. He’s actually my Hubby’s Best friend’s Great Uncle and he is pretty much bed bound. At almost 87 years old, I’m sure he’d rather not see the new year in at all, but he will and selfishly, I’m rather glad that he will. He is a wonderful man, with a warm heart and a laugh that absolutely melts mine. So we are going to spend an hour with him. To wish him a Happy New Year. We will have a tiny drop of Champagne and pull a few crackers. It will be our mini, early, very Happy New Year celebration.
To everybody else, I hope you have a wonderful evening. Here’s to 2016, lets hope it’s as wonderful as we all hope it will be. xxx
