This Christmas day was everything I’d expected and a whole lot more.
Very often, Christmas can be bitterly disappointing. Our expectations are always high for the one day in the year that we spend months preparing for.
The problem is, when you aim so high, there is always a ton of room for things to go wrong and they invariably do. This year however, they didn’t. I had my beautiful niece for the day so I kind of knew it would be good regardless of events, but with the help of my big Bro, his gorgeous girlfriend, my beautiful girls, fab Hubby, my Mom & Dad and our best friends, we had a magical day.
Boxing day was a day for the settee, although I did spend part of the morning at the hospital waiting with my youngest daughter to see the GP, as she had been struck with an inconvenient and pretty nasty dose of tonsillitis. However, 24 hours after the antibiotics kicked in, she was feeling a million times better.
Today was a family affair. A trip to the in-laws and a long-awaited reunion with my Hubby and Sister in laws step Bro & Sis and their partners was just lovely. My Step Mom in law is an amazing cook, so after some delicious food and a few sips of red I was rather tipsy and enjoying the trip down memory lane.
The day after tomorrow is Panto Night, so I’m sure another tipple will be on the cards.
Finally to top of Christmas, we are off to some friends, with our Best Friends, for New Years Eve. I’ve already stocked up the medicine cabinet for the hangover that will inevitably follow.
Bring it on…..
