Well the norm for the weekends in our house usually consists of me pottering around doing a spot of housework, followed by catch up tv, the settee and an enormous fluffy blanket!
For Hubby, it means a trip to man-cave to tinker with his cars.
Last weekend was a little different. Saturday I was attending the wedding of a friend and as their photographer no less, so I spent most of the day chasing the beautiful bride around in my inappropriate killer gold platforms, snapping away with my beloved Nikon!
Sunday morning, time to allow the balls of my feet to recover and tidy up the mess created the previous morning in the chaos that preceded the Wedding!
My plan for the afternoon came in the shape of a mountain of creased clothing, an iron and several episodes of Gossip Girl. My Hubby, had another idea, an idea that the more I looked at the mountain of un-ironed clothes, seemed more appealing by the second. He wanted to go and look at cars and have a little drive in ‘Penny’ Penny is very beautifully restored classic 911. I almost feel like I should ‘don’ a little retro outfit before I try as elegantly as possible to lower myself into the plush leather sports seat. I fail at entering elegantly, I’m more like a Rhino trying to slide into a canoe!
Once inside, it’s hard to tell the age of this beautiful little machine. Well, apart from the lack of air-conditioning. Fear not though, we have a sunroof and to my surprise, she also has electric windows, so one shall not perspire too much from the lack of modern technology.
We had a very pleasant afternoon in Penny and I even treated Hubby to a McDonald’s, delicious. See, I know how to treat my man! I came home feeling considerably more rested and refreshed than I would have felt if I’d been standing for three hours ironing and it really was a rather pleasant afternoon spending quality time with my Hubby, but I think he needs to heed this little warning from a wife who treasures her own company, I don’t need to do this whole reconnecting thing every weekend! 😉 x
