It was bank holiday last Monday, but this seems to have been the longest week.
Following a combination of waking up every day between 2.30 and 4.40 am, keeping up with work, fulfilling my housewifely duties, praying for the right general election result and being a Mom to a teenage daughter in the middle of her final, stressful college project has really taken its toll on my skin. I’m 41 but I have the spots of a teenager with wrinkles & creases that seem to be getting deeper by the day!
Today, I was rejoicing, as I didn’t wake up until 6am. An entire night, actually spent in my bed, not half of it either in the spare room or on the couch waiting for sunrise! So my plan for today…
… Well, my plan post breakfast Smoothie with Bovril on toast. Lie on my comfy couch while I finish watching a film on my iPad. Next, finish watching Dante’s Peak on catch up from very late last night. Then, get dressed, tidy up and address the skin situation. It was definitely time to bring out the big guns. A while back, I decided to treat myself to the iconic cult cleanser from Eve Lom. Accompanying this divine cleanser that I’ve hardly used as I’m usually in too much of a rush first thing in the morning, was a small face mask. So that is what I would do, It was time to bring out the Rolls Royce of restorative face masks and get to work on restoring my complexion.
Today is Saturday. Hubby doesn’t work on Saturday, he plays with and fixes his cars, I therefore, don’t need to feel guilty about doing nothing. Today will be my lazy day. My pamper myself all day day. Smeared in my amazing face mask that’s dried so hard on my face I can’t even crack a smile, I pick up my guitar and begin to play. The clutter I had been planing to sort out today can wait. In fact everything, can wait. For now I have the house to myself so never mind spending all week waiting for Friday, I thank goodness it’s Saturday!
