The build up to Christmas is always hectic, but this year, extraordinarily so. After more than a week of rising between 4.45-5am to shop, fetch things, get to work early or wash my hair, I was utterly exhausted!
Christmas Day, however, was perfect. We had my immediate family and friends here for the day and the star of the day, was without question, my beautiful Niece! We had the pleasure of her, my Big Bro and my Sis in law’s company until Boxing Day. They were all packed up and ready to leave for the journey to her family’s home, just outside London, by 9.30am. Once they had gone, the clear up began! My house, that I had spent days cleaning, de-cluttering and continually tidying up, had been transformed into something that resembled a war zone! Sometime later, it was restored to a fairly habitable space once again.
My Hubby had gone to do ‘man‘ things & my Daughters decided to brave the Boxing Day Sales, I was therefore, left all alone. Just in time for a much-needed power nap!
I spent the rest of the afternoon indulging in ‘My’ TV! Yes, I had full use of all of our remote controls. This was indeed a rare occurrence and one that continued throughout the week!
Apart from the usual morning tidy up, making the beds, loading, unloading the dishwasher, etc and of course visiting family, I’ve had a very lazy few days and I have enjoyed every second of it!
This has enabled me to avoid the usual Post Christmas Blues and with New Years Eve almost upon us, I’m hoping that I’ll have escaped them completely!
Cheers Everyone…
…Have a Happy New Year! x
