We arrived, this afternoon at the Radisson Blu Hotel, just down the road from Heathrow Airport where we will embark on our 8 hour journey. A journey that I and I alone, am thoroughly looking forward to. Odd really, as I am petrified of heights, but I love to fly! I love the food, I love the choice of movies, the solitude one gets from wearing the uncomfortable headphones, hell, I even love queueing for the loo! Hubby isn’t too keen on the whole process at all and my youngest daughter, well, she doesn’t travel well at all. She does sleep though, so hopefully she will close her eyes and wake up in the magical city that we will call home for the next four days.
We have just eaten in the bar as the restaurant food was far to ‘up market’ for my fussy eaters! I decided, as I wasnt allowed to do the whole posh restaurant thing, that I would indulge in a nice glass of red wine. Well, lets just say, I have just taken a bath, while a little tipsy, in our sumptuous room! My giggles and self amusement went completely un noticed, as they are both on their IPads!
So, until tomorrow it is then. I think it will feel rather surreal from the moment we arrive in Manhattan. One of my favourite films and definitely my favourite Christmas films, is Miracle on 34th Street and this is where our hotel is.
I cant wait to get there…
