My Trip to Australia to visit my big bro, his beautiful better half & ‘MY’ gorgeous niece, was so much more than I had expected it to be.
I had been been exited for weeks and as the time grew closer, I was almost ready to explode! This excitement however, was purely for seeing my family members, I hadn’t really given much thought to the fact that I was travelling to the other side of the world! To one of the most popular cities in the world, Sydney.
I shed a few tears along with my youngest, when I said goodbye to her and my Hubby at the airport. But I was soon through passport control, spending money on duty free and scurrying to my gate.
Both flights were pretty good and although long, the second flight was great! The plane was more spacious and newer than the first one, with the most awesome inflight entertainment I have ever used.
Before long, We had touched down in Sydney, grabbed our bags and raced through customs. As soon as I walked around the corner I could see my Big bro, Oh dear, the tears arrived again as I gave him a big ‘Hello’ hug. It was so nice to see his face after almost 3 years!
We both had verbal diarrhoea as we drove back to their apartment so before we could come up for air, we had parked in their allocated slot and unloaded my luggage from the car. I warned my bro again about the weight of my suitcase, I had taken full advantage of my 30 kilo’s!
Once inside the apartment, we were greeted by my bro’s GF with a welcome hug and a glass of wine. Just what the doctor ordered! It was almost 11pm by this time so the baby was fast asleep. Never mind, I would be meeting her in the morning! The three of us talked until 1 am, when we decided we should probably call it a night.
My bed was blown up in minutes and was soon screaming at me to climb in. As I drifted off to sleep, all I could think about was how lovely it was to finally be here with them and how much I was looking forward to finally meeting my beautiful niece…

What a wonderful story, Emma. It`s so great to meet family after a long period away and catch up. Those late night chats are the best! So many memories flowing. So many beautiful moments. Can`t wait or Part II!
