I woke up at the usual time of 6am yesterday morning, in one of those weird states of mind when you have no idea what day it is!

After a minute or two of trying to figure out what day it had been the day before. The mild feeling of pleasure that was starting to consume me, soon disappeared as I came around enough to look at the calendar on my phone…

OH NO! It was Monday!

I always dread Monday morning.  Monday is the first day of the working week for most people, so most people are Grumpy.  This, in turn, makes me Grumpy!

I walk into work with a smile as big as I can muster.  Positive thinking I think to myself.  I am greeted by one of ‘my Boys‘ (they are not really my boys but this is how I refer to them at work!) I will call him Boy 1! He always makes me laugh! He walks through the door, as usual, not a minute before 9am!  He always has this innocent little look on his face because he thinks he is late, I reassure him that he isn’t and he plods upstairs to the ‘Boys’ office.

Boy 1 and Boy 2, take hourly cigarette breaks, so they have to walk past me twice.  first to get coffee and again to go outside.  They always stop and chat for a few seconds first, this lifts my mood! Thank you Boys!!!

So why is Monday so bad?  Why do I dread Monday so much?

Well maybe It’s not as bad as I imagine it will be.  Sure, Most of the Boys are Grumpy first thing and it’s always busy after the weekend, but I work with a pretty good bunch, so I guess it’s not that bad after all and besides, which day follows Monday?

Tuesday!  My day off!
